  • Cereal – Although cereal is fairly straight forward, realize that you have a few options when it comes to milk. If you have a cooler with ice or a mini fridge, then you are safe to pack any kind of milk. However if you don’t have any way to chill your cow’s milk, then you are safe to pack sealed almond milk. Have you ever seen almond milk sitting on the shelf at a super market? That’s due to the fact that I does not require refrigeration prior to being opened. However, once it has been opened it must be refrigerated. Another convenient option is powered milk. Just simply mix the powder with water and you are left with a nice cows milk alternative, the same can be applied to a vanilla protein powder.
  • Oatmeal – Simply just boil some hot water and you’re done! But if you’ve had plain oatmeal recently, you’ll remember that it isn’t necessarily the most flavorful option.

    To add flavor you can buy flavored packets such as apples and cinnamon, or strawberries and cream. These are super sweet, and pack a tasty punch!

    Throw in some fresh fruit such as blueberries, apples, raspberries, or bananas for a sweet and fiber rich enhancer.

    You can also combine natural sweeteners as well, such as brown sugar, maple syrup, or cinnamon.

  • Granola – it packs a punch in fiber, carbs, and has a healthy amount of protein as well. It can be used as a crunchy topping, partnered with milk, or eaten by itself.

Pancakes/French Toast

If you fancy something on the sweet side, you cannot go wrong with pancakes or some French toast. Just because you are going camping does not mean you can’t have an indulgent breakfast after all!

  • Pancakes – Powdered pancake mix, eggs and milk! This simple tradition has made an abundence of campers’ bellies full, and faces smile.

    If you have a way to chill your food then the traditional method will work just fine while you are camping, just don’t forget the maple syrup!

    If you don’t have a way to refrigerate milk and eggs, you’re in luck! The make pancake options where you just add water, and just like that you have a stack of hot fluffy flapjacks.

    If you only have access to the traditional pancake mix, you can always make them with powdered milk, and canola oil as an egg substitute.

If you are going to make a breakfast taco, we recommend using refried beans and then making some scrambled eggs. You can then add on any toppings you wish. Bacon and avocado work well, but it is all up to you! After this, all you need to do is assemble the tacos and enjoy.
